Team by the Bay: The Erie SeaWolves

A summer internship with the Erie SeaWolves, a minor league baseball franchise in Pennsylvania's only Great Lake port, inspired Westminster Broadcast Comm major Robert Maleski. The team became the focus of Maleski's capstone documentary project. The team plays in the Eastern League. The Double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers Major League Baseball club. The SeaWolves play in Jerry Uht Park in downtown Erie which seats 6,000 fans. The SeaWolves mascot comes from another name for pirate as the original SeaWolves Class-A team was an affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The SeaWolves also have another Westminster connection. 2008 alum Chris Norris, who is a former WCN anchor and reporter, is now Director of Entertainment for the SeaWolves.
