Vincent / Don McLean

This great song is written by Don McLean as a tribute to Vincent van Gogh in 1971. He wrote the lyrics with emotion after reading a book about Gogh's life history. I was so impressed by this wonderful song with guitar's beautiful sounds, heart moving melodies and lyrics with full of respect for unfortunate painter. I feel happy if you enjoy it!

1970年代に活躍したアメリカのフォークシンガー、ドン・マクリーンの曲Vincent を取り上げました。2001年10月にリリースされたアルバム"The best of Don McLean"の中の一曲です。アルバムには彼の代表曲、アメリカン・パイもありましたが、この曲は特に美しいギターの音色と静かに語りかけるようなメロディ、薄幸の画家への畏敬に満ちた歌詞などが素晴らしく、とても感動しました。アコースティックのきれいな音を楽しんで頂けたら嬉しいです♪
動画の最後に出てくる額に入ったゴッホの絵のタイトルはイントロの歌詞と同じStarring, starring night で、2011年末にNYの近代美術館でたまたま撮影したものを使用しました＾＾
