In a personal and moving talk, Mamadou Diaw discusses the impact his father’s life experiences have had on him. Mamadou describes how, as a second generation immigrant, he has learned that his father’s wisdom and perseverance will always be a part of his family’s character. Mamadou Diaw is a Senegalese-American born in Harlem, New York City and a member of the Class of 2021 at Bowdoin College. He is pursuing a major in Earth and Oceanographic Science with a minor in Sociology. Mamadou is a member of the Office of Residential Life staff, Bowdoin Student Government, and the Outing Club. He is a firm believer that there is room for growth everyday and that listening to other people’s stories is a good place to start.
