Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Boss Rush (No Damage, Alucard)

Описание к видео Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Boss Rush (No Damage, Alucard)

Trying to no-damage the Boss Rush on Alucard is a crash-course in the use of the Teleport Slash; it serves as an all-purpose response to some of the most dangerous attacks in the entire Rush, and to essentially the entirety of the Abaddon fight.

Of the three no-damages I went for, Alucard was by far the hardest. I'm uploading this last, but I actually collected this footage before I'd streamlined my Paranoia strats during my Julius attempts, and as a result had a lot of trouble with mirror patterns. By contrast, Abaddon was much smoother, presumably because the answer to so many of his attacks is to just hit one button.

Nevertheless, this still took me more attempts than on Julius, though only by a few. It took me 128 attempts and like Julius, I endeavored to keep track of how many times I failed to which bosses, but unfortunately the first 44 pieces of footage were lost. Of the remaining 84:

Flying Armor- 6
Balore- 3
Dmitri: 7
Puppet Master: 6
Dario: 3
Fish: 1
Gergoth: 10
Zephyr: 10
Bat Company: 4
Paranoia: 15
Aguni: 3
Abaddon: 9
Death: 5

Of the lost 44 attempts, I'm certain at least 70% of them were to Gergoth, so you can add another 10 to his total. Alucard has no slide-kick, making Gergoth's jump attack particularly unforgiving to dodge. I found the best strategy was to back-dash under him, which requires some really precise inputs and timing.

Also the default boss rush music sucks so I played something better over it.

Done on emulator, DeSmuME.
