Chandler is you when your mind is fragile, like the wings of a newly hatched butterfly. 🦋

It's not a weakness.
It's a superpower.

Chandler is ten years old
he couldn't thrive in a life
with a silver spoon
he's got a lump in his throat
from all the dour thoughts

Everyone's waiting
wanting to change him
Everyone's out of time

Calm before the storm
they wouldn't see
the war inside his mind

There's no such thing
as being too sensitive

Laura is twenty years old
lives in a cardboard universe
she's lining things up in a row
so she controls it

Everyone's waiting
wanting to change her
Everyone's out of time
Calm before the storm
they wouldn't know
the walls she has to climb

There's no such thing

Chandler is forty years old
still hears the quiet undertones
neighbours are calling him the ghost
talk like they know him

Everyone's waiting
wanting to change him

the wouldn't see the war he has to fight
