This video simplifies the changes to covid rules for international travel to the UK from October 4th for fully vaccinated and non-fully vaccinated travellers.
There are changes to the traffic light system involving green and amber lists, and doing PCR covid tests. Apart, from reduced number of countries from September 22nd, the red list stays unchanged.

You should be aware of the new UK travel rules as well as the covid travel restrictions to your country of destination so always make sure you check before you travel.

The UK traffic light system for international travel during covid has been scrapped, the amber list is now merged with the green list into one list known as rest of the world travel list.
If travelling to the UK and coming from a non-red list country and you're fully vaccinated i.e double jabbed, you'll no longer need to take a 72 hr predeparture test before arriving in the UK, you'll still have to do a day 2 PCR test. This will eventually be replaced by a cheaper day 2 lateral flow test before the end of October.
If you're not fully vaccinated, which means if you've not had the jab or just a single jab, you'll still have to isolate for 10 days and take a day 2 PCR test and day 8 PCR test.
You can opt to do a test to release on day 5 which means you can shorten the isolation period by 5 days but you'll still have to do a  day 8 PCR test.
