Dr. Léopold Bourgouin has lived at the St. Vincent de Paul Health Center since its opening in June 2005, serving as its Medical Director. The Center is the only source for healthcare in the region. It offers primary and acute medical services, dental and malnutrition care, perinatal and obstetrics, pharmaceutical and community health education services. ServeHAITI is also training local Community Health Workers (CHW) who then are educating the women in the community in hygiene, sexually transmitted diseases prevention, family planning so they can make good informed decisions about their life. In addition ServeHAITI is facilitating:

Cycle Beads Making - We made cycle beads for natural birth control. We provided training on how to use the beads to residents of Grand Bois at the health center. We also taught our Community Health Workers' about how to use the Cycle Beads so they could distribute the beads and provide training. We included written instructions in Creole.

Baby Bundles Program - As part of our Healthy Baby program, we provide a Baby Bundle for each baby born at the clinic. It includes a new flannel blanket, a homemade diaper and pins, a new baby onesie, socks, and hat. Also, soap and a washcloth.

Girls' hygiene kits - We hire Hatian women to sew reusable menstrual pads for girls so that they don’t have to miss school while having their period. The kits include a drawstring bag they can use to carry the pads to and from school (along with plastic bags to hold the used pads and to help in washing them), underwear, soap, emery boards, fingernail clippers, a comb and hair ties. We pass the kits out at school and provide information on feminine hygiene.
