London calling once again this week, as one of us heads for the colourful and buzzing Camden Town on another whistle-stop tour before the clock runs down. Well, we've got to fill our time off at work somehow! With its vibrant and maze-like markets, bright and bold shop fronts, historic music scene and a whole host of secrets to discover, I try to squeeze in as much as possible before a mad dash back to the van. Along the way, however, I also discover the shell of an iconic gay pub that has remained closed for ten years. The Black Cap has been a refuge for gay men since the 1960s, as well as drag artists across the decades, so to see it empty and forgotten in this otherwise bustling town, is a sad sight to behold and gives cause to ponder the difficulties that the dwindling numbers of gay bars face today and the effect this might have on gay culture.
