Youtuber SmithPlays released a romhack called Fire Emblem 7 Legacy, which is a romhack mod for FE 7 that touched up the game and fixes some issues. While most of these issues will be seen either in Eliwood/Hector mode, there's a few showcased during Lyn's mode. Overall, this is a hard(er) take on FE 7 which requires a bit more strategy.

Here are some things that were changed:
-- Weapons are 3x effective instead of 2x, meaning bows actually can do something against flying enemies.
-- Some maps are slightly changed in layout.
-- Hector and Eliwood gain swords and lances, respectively, at base.
-- More deployment slots in Hard Mode, but still less than normal modes.
-- Supports are gained faster and some of the affinities are adjusted for different gains.
-- Units have slightly upped growth rates and slightly changed bases. Some units have slightly decreased bases.
-- Kishuna now has a battle sprite. He is still required to beat to get into 19x Pt.2, but Nil's level requirement is now gone.
