Kali has had the internet on fire for the last year with her singles 'Mami', “Do a B*tch” and now “MMM MMM”. But don’t think she just got lucky and began achieving her goals overnight, even though she JUSTTT became legally able to buy a drink, she’s been rapping and perfecting her craft for over a decade. Inspired by artists like Nicki Minaj, Missy Elliott, and Aaliyah - - Kali officially became a rapper after her dad struck a deal with her: write 13 songs and you can have your own room. A month later, she finished, then recorded the songs with his help; this was at the age of 12.

Over the next few years, Kali would struggle with what at the time seemed like setbacks, including having her audition on the Netflix show, “Rhythm + Flow” cut short because the judges were tired; her first mixtape as an adult being taken down because of clearance issues, and bad contracts. However, she kept persisting and earlier this year - she dropped another project ‘This Why They Mad Now’ which spawned Do a B*tch, as well as, a remix to the song feat. Rico Nasty.

Earlier this summer, after posting a snippet on Tik Tok to her latest single ‘MMM MMM’; she realized everyone needed this from her - and after releasing it - the song instantly caught success. Now a couple hundred million streams later on the song on the app - Kali is right at the point of taking off in a major way. She performed Rolling Loud a few months back, and you can expect more music and visuals from her in the coming months - so stay tapped in with her because we definitely think she is here to stay!
