The Tavera was the best-selling Chevrolet vehicle in the country. Hot on the heels of the then-discontinued Toyota Qualis, the Tavera became an instant hit by filling in the void left by the former. One of the reasons for its success was the huge space that could seat 10 people. The Chevy Tavera had 3 generations, if they can be called so, in India. However, the Tavera had its origins in the humble Isuzu Panther, which most Indians have never heard of -- born out of rebadging exercise.
