Brigitte Escobar Piaguaje, a Siona leader from Colombia and Indigenous Guard, was part of the delegation of Indigenous leaders from cross-border peoples of Ecuador, Colombia, and Peru, who, together with the Amazon Frontlines and Ceibo Alliance team, traveled to Cali, Colombia, to participate in COP16.

At the forum “Indigenous-led Conservation: A Dialogue Between Science and Cosmovision” held at the Pacific Events Center in the COP16 Blue Zone, Brigitte spoke about the deep bond Indigenous peoples share with their territories and the spirits of the forest. She highlighted how their vast knowledge enables more effective care of biodiversity.
