Carl Griffenkranz, Director of Marketing discussed the unique process of how Granite Transformations installs kitchen countertops - they take engineered stone and adhere it over your existing countertops, eliminating the mess and potential damage to your kitchen. And the best part? Countertops can be installed in as little as one day.

How are the countertops made? Granite Transformations offers two main types of countertop materials: granite and recycled glass. We take large pieces of granite, we grind it down in our manufacturing facility in Florida, mix it with a special resin, gets spread out in a 4 foot by 10 foot sheet, baked for a couple of hours, then run it through a football field size diamond polishing machine to give it that nice shine, and between the sealing and polishing, you don't have to worry about staining, from red wine, grape juice, or olive oil. It won't penetrate the surfaces.

Once your countertops have been cut to size during the fabrication process, which typically takes about 2 weeks, a date can be set for the installation. The countertops (a quarter inch thick) are made to fit perfectly over existing countertops. About 90% of the time, we replace the sink and faucet.

The recycled glass countertops are made with beer bottles, with 30% to 70% post consumer recycled content, depending on the color chosen. It is not only beautiful when the sun shines on it, but it is helping the environment as well.
