It is well established that high ultrafiltration rates during hemodialysis are associated with a higher risk of mortality. In this study, Ariella and her colleagues postulated that patients with a heavier weight may experience a disadvantage, as the scaled ultrafiltration rate may allow for a higher absolute rate of excess fluid removal.
