The Flying Squirrel, written by Pink Martini bandleader Thomas Lauderdale and original trombonist, Robert Taylor, has long been a swinging live performance showpiece for the band's talented instrumentalists. Often opening the second half of our live shows, the song does not appear on any of our studio albums. Enjoy hot solos from guitarist Dan Faehnle, bassist Phil Baker, percussionists Brian Davis and Miguel Bernal, and horn players Gavin Bondy and Antonis Andreou! Recorded live at Pink Martini's week-long concert residency at SFJAZZ in San Francisco, California, in December 2019.
