Pauline Sawyers updates the media on murder of her son, Toronto teen Aeon Grant at Toronto Police Service headquarters on May 6, 2010.

On thursday December 3, 2009 at 11:52pm several 911 calls were placed to Toronto Police Service by occupants of various apartment residences at the high rise complex situated at 30 Falstaff Ave, Toronto. The calls were in relation to sounds of gunshots.

Officers and EMS personnel arrived to find Aeon Grant lying against the stairwell door on the 15th floor with gunshot wounds. He was transported to Sunnybrook Hospital where he died from his injuries.

On May 6th, 2010 Chief of Police William Blair offered a $50,000 reward for a witness to come forward to police.

"I am authorizing a reward of fifty thousand dollards ($50,000) from the Toronto Police Service for evidence leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for this murder.

This reward is restricted only to those persons who have not previously provided a statement to the Toronto Police Service pertaining to this investigation. in addition, employees and/or volunteer staff and their immediate families of law enforcement and correctional agencies are not eligible to collect this reward.

The reward is payable in Canadian funds and expires on March 23, 2011 and shall be apportioned as the to Toronto Police Service deems just. Claims will be recognized only when made in writing prior to the expiry date.
