CP (CN) DET & 321 "double play" at Twin City!!

August 17th, 2024....

An extremely rare occurrence for up in these parts... a CN detour running on CP + a CN detour with 8 units up front + a side-by-side "double play" with a 2nd grain mtys!! I better get a lottery ticket!! lol

First in view is... CPKC DET-17 (CN G891 re-route) with CN units: 3124, 2789, 3874, 3882, 3945, 3197, 2775, 3201... total of 122 grain x's.

Second in view is... CPKC 321-120 with units: CP 9751 & KCSM 4137... total of 175 grain x's.

Action captured at the bottom of the first big hill going west at Twin City, west of Dexter at MP 8.58 Kaministiquia Sub. CN has started running a couple of detoured trains over the CP between Thunder Bay and Winnipeg due to a major bridge structure failure just east of Fort Frances.
