Forward & backward scratch tutorial

Описание к видео Forward & backward scratch tutorial

Learn how to build up the forward & backward scratch after you learned the Baby scratch.

Forward scratch:
Open the crossfader, let your scratch sample play (forward), stop the record & close the crossfader, keep the crossfader closed while returning to the start position of your sample.

Build up speed & start playing around with patterns, different timings & speed, accentuating the beat for example.

Backward scratch:
The opposite of the forward version. Open the crossfader, return backwards to the start position of your scratch sample, close the crossfader & move the record forward/let the sample play. In this case you only hear the returning part, not the forward part of the sample.

Cool, simple scratches to add to your arsenal.
I mostly use the forward scratch & rarely the backward version. If I do the backward scratch I like to do the movement slowly so you sort of get a slowmotion effect which can be nice after z few faster scratches.

Good luck & enjoy.
