Kochi: The Cochin International Airport will open only on August 29. Earlier, it was announced that it would open on August 26th. The airport was closed on August 15 following heavy flood and incessant rain.The decision was taken at a review meeting for evaluating the damages caused due to the floods. Officials said that the opening had been put off by three days as 90 per cent of the staff had been affected by the flood.The airport was first closed on August 9, for a few hours, and then on August 15.
