লালবাগ কেল্লা মসজিদ (2023)

This is one of the few surviving Mughal structures in Dhaka and one of the oldest Masjid in Bangladesh.
The exact date of construction is unknown, but it is believed that it was built, in around 1649 -1679 by Muhammad Azam Shah, who was the son of Emperor Aurangzeb.

Alhamdu'lillah, I was there for the Jummah prayer . Very neat and clean Masjid with a capacity of around 400 people inside. During the Jummah prayer, people are allowed to pray outside.
There is no calligraphy or any traditional Mughal design visible inside or outside the Masjid. May be it's because during halfway of the construction, the Mughal emperor of that time decided to move the capital from Dhaka to Murshidabad.

Unfortunately now this historical place is surrounded by the concrete jungle all around it.
