For the last 15 years, I've been creating artworks using graphite and so I thought I'd talk on a part of the drawing that is often overlooked, the mapping stage. It's a foundational stage of the drawing where you loosely apply graphite to the paper before you put in the details. Let me know in the comments if you spend time in this phase of the drawing or if like me, often you find yourself rushing through it.
