Best Beach Blankets (Polyester vs Nylon) Are They Really Both Waterproof & Sand Free?

Should I bring a polyester beach blanket to the beach or should I bring a Nylon beach blanket to the beach? That's what I wanted to know. I was also curious about what sand-free and sand resistant really means when used to describe a beach blanket.
