Yishun Town is a large-scale and densely populated community in Singapore. With the development of Yishun Town today, the story has to start from the Seletar River.

1811年，柔佛廖内王朝大臣天猛公移居新加坡时，许多南来的华人也跟着迁来，他们逐水而居，再沿河而上开垦荒地。

In 1811, when the minister of the Riau Dynasty of Johor, Duke Tian Meng, moved to Singapore, many Chinese from the south also moved there. They lived by the water and then reclaimed wasteland along the river.
