After spending two nights pinned down on a pebble beach by storms, I finally caught a break in the weather. The window wasn’t perfect — I was paddling straight into the wind all day — but it was just enough to push forward and find some shelter before the next round of thunderstorms rolled in.

That shelter ended up being Sunnd Nordic Eco Resort, tucked away on the north shore of Lake Superior. An incredible place with accommodation on a private lake, and the perfect spot to wait out bad weather. Spending a few nights there in my tent, along with the great company of Ann Marie and her family, was exactly what I needed before heading back out.

Once the storms passed, it was time to move again. Back onto Lake Superior, making miles, and finally camping on Batchawana Island.

The finish line for this season is getting close now — Sault Ste. Marie is just ahead, and the end of this year’s journey is finally in sight.

It’s messy, challenging, and absolutely unforgettable—wilderness adventure at its rawest!

This journey has been a test of endurance, courage, and determination. Every paddle stroke brings new challenges and unforgettable moments. Will I make it all the way across Canada? Stick around to find out!
