Une poupèe aux yeux d’èmail (Angelika Kirchschlager)

I know the image shape and quality are not ideal here, but this one is too essential not to include. Kirchschlager is definitely one of the cutest and sassiest Nicklausses ever. I can't keep up with her dynamic facial expressions, and the Sass is palpable. Plus the way she ends this is adorable and quite gay, which is exactly how this number should be played out.
Can I just say how happy I am to have found this? Poor Kirchschlager gets a chance to actually BE Nicklausse here after (technically before) the abomination that is the Salzburg 2003 production of this opera. (I'm not kidding that one is a crime against opera and possibly humanity. Sorry not sorry, David.) Bless the Orange Festival for giving us this wonderful production that fluctuates between sinister, zany, and mysterious, and bless them for giving us such a sweet, sassy Nicklausse.
Also, isn't Kirchschlager's hair amazing?
