Welcome to the first video in our series on how to make a surfboard! Today, we're focusing on the initial step: shaping the blank. This process typically takes about 2 hours.

In this video, I'll be shaping a 5'10" shortboard model known as the Optimus Board. We call it the Optimus because it's the optimal board for contests. It provides excellent maneuverability, making it perfect for performing airs and reverse landings.

What You'll See in This Video:
Marking the Outline: I start by marking the outline of the board on the blank.
Cutting the Shape: Using a handsaw, I carefully cut along the lines to form the basic shape of the surfboard.
Fine-Tuning: Next, I use a planer to smooth out the rough edges and refine the board's contours.
Detailing: Finally, I focus on the details, ensuring the board has the right balance and curves.
