Deputy Social Development Minister Ganief Hendricks says the government needs to resource Non-Profit Organisations to help eradicate poverty.

However, NPOs are told they also need to play their part by accounting for every cent they are given.

Hendricks held an engagement with NPOs and NPO funders in Lenasia south of Johannesburg yesterday.

Shelters, children's homes and disability organisations are among organisations that have had to close down their doors, due delayed payments from the government.
