Experience the scattered fragrance and colours of devotion to Lord Panduranga Vittala Vithoba.

A soulful expression of humble devotion to Lord Panduranga of Pandharpur in a caste ridden society that denies entry into temples to those considered as lower caste. This Abhang “Abeer Gulaal” written by Sant Chokhamela, has been composed by Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki in raga Bhoopali. Here a traditional rendition of the Abhang is embellished by the singers through raga improvisations in the Antaras with Aalap, Sargam, Taan, Bol-Bant and Laykari as well as ‘Sawal Jawab’ blended in between the singers and the Tabla artist. Chants of “Panduranga Jai Hari Vittala” begin to crescendo reaching a climax of fervor filled chants of ‘Vittala Vittala’.

Vocalists Manas Vishwaroop and Kartik Raman perform the raga improvisations taking care to match the meaning and mood of the lyrics that shifts from poignant devotion to joyful celebration of Lord Vishnu’s descent to earth as Panduranga Vittala. Accompanying the vocalists are Anirudh Sharma on Tabla and Manjira and Sai Prashant Harihar on the hyboard.
