Mike Egan was injured while deployed in 2012.

While serving as squad leader in the 1st battalion 8th Marines in Afghanistan he stepped on an IED.

He instantly became a bilateral amputee and was awake for the entire thing.

Before getting injured Mike had lifted but never tried CrossFit.

He says he loves CrossFit because its functionality and transfer to real life. He urges other adaptive athletes to do CrossFit so they can be more prepared for everyday life.

While at ‪@TheWodapalooza‬ we asked ‪@Mertenscolten‬ if he wanted to see what he could snatch while in a wheelchair.

Coached by Mike - Colten got the opportunity to see how challenging it was.
