It is found only twice in the New Testament: And as Isaiah said before: 'Unless the Lord of Sabaoth [armies] had left us a seed, we would have become like Sodom, and we would have been made like Gomorrah' Romans 9:29.

The name Sabaoth comes from the Hebrew word for “that which goes forth” and for “armies” or “hosts.” The name Yahweh Sabaoth declares God's reign over heaven and earth and over all armies, earthly and spiritual.
