UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Senior forward Mackenzie Holmes posted a double-double and No. 4/3 Indiana thwarted off an upset attempt by Penn State to improve to 10-0 in a 67-58 win at the Bryce Jordan Center. Indiana ties its best star under ninth year head coach Teri Moren.

Indiana led by as many as eight in the first with 3:43 to play but went cold as it scored just two points the rest of the way and held a 16-15 lead.

The scoreless streak lasted into the second quarter but back-to-back buckets from Parrish and Holmes tied the game at 20. Penn State would push again and lead by as many as five on two occasions. Senior guard Sara Scalia pushed to the rim on IU's final possession of the half, but the Hoosiers faced a 29-26 deficit at the break.

Outscoring the Lady Lions, 22-11, in the third, Indiana used a solid attack from Holmes who had eight points and seven points each from Parrish and junior guard Chloe Moore-McNeil. A jumper by Parrish at the elbow and Moore-McNeil pushing in transition sparked a 9-0 run with 5:07 to play in the third.

Leading by as many as 10 in the final 90 seconds of the third, the Hoosiers took as many as a 15-point lead in the early minutes of the fourth quarter. The Lady Lions (7-3, 0-2 B1G) poked at the Hoosiers' lead late, cutting it to as few as seven but freshman guard Henna Sandvik hesitated on the shot block and secured the wide-open bunny. Indiana finished things off at the line in the bonus with a pair from Parrish.

NOTABLE
With the win, Indiana ties its best start under ninth year head coach Teri Moren. It also won its first 10 games in the 2018-19 season.
Holmes recorded her third double-double of the season and 13th of her career with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Parrish tied Holmes for a team-high 18 points while adding seven rebounds and three assists.
Moore-McNeil added 11 points in the win with a team-high seven assists and had just one turnover.
The Hoosiers shot 52.9 percent from the floor, its seventh game shooting 50 percent or better.
They assisted on 20 of 27 made shots, with four players dishing out multiple assists including five from freshman guard Yarden Garzon and four from Scalia.
Indiana outscored the Lady Lions, 41-29, in the second half. It had to battle from its first halftime deficit of the season.
At the line, IU went 88.9 percent (8-for-9) including a perfect effort from Moore-McNeil (4-for-4).
