Kreator - Under a Total Blackened Sky (Guitar Cover)

One of the most difficult songs I’ve tried learning and definitely one of the most difficult Kreator songs. It might not seem like it just from listening to it but the first two minutes require a lot of precision and endurance and it’s really easy to make a mistake just from your picking hand being tired out. The most difficult riffs have to be the very first riff, the main riff that follows it, and the pre-chorus riff (The first riff only plays four times in total at the beginning and never repeats but it requires a lot of precision). The riff that requires the most endurance is the verse riff where the downpicking can definitely tire you out and make it harder to play everything else that follows. There’s a lot going into it but it’s a great song to learn if you want to challenge yourself and/or try to improve your technique. Enemy of God has a lot of challenging songs but I would say that this one is by far the hardest. It’s a shame how underrated the album as a whole is besides the title track. I consider Enemy of God and Violent Revolution to be two of the greatest thrash metal albums of all time and they’re right up there with the early Kreator albums in my opinion. Every song is memorable and very well written and I never get tired of listening to those albums. But that’s pretty much all I have to say. This will probably be my last guitar cover of the year and I’ll be back next year with more. I want to focus more time on songwriting but I’ll still find time to record covers every now and then.
