How to Play Basso Continuo: Recitatives

Описание к видео How to Play Basso Continuo: Recitatives

HOW TO PLAY BASSO CONTINUO: RECITATIVES / This video is all about how to prepare and play recitatives. I use the recitative “Jesus ging mit seinen Jüngern” from Johann Sebastian Bach’s St. John Passion as a recitative example to explain and demonstrate how to prepare recitatives as a basso continuo player. We focus on learning how to open your ears and your mind to listening intently to the singer and the other musicians, practicing how to prepare ahead of rehearsal so that you’re ready to do this.
