BBC Music MagazineDecember 2009
…a consummate partnership. …the artists can do lightness wonderfully well, helped by Beuron's superb mezza voce. Eidi's playing is beyond praise.
Gramophone MagazineNovember 2009
…Yann Beuron and Billy Eidi's… ardour and commitment are unmistakable. At once sensitive and strong they are true to a clearly beloved composer whether in the voluptuously beautiful "En sourdine" or in the heart-breaking reflection of "Prison". All lovers of a still misunderstood composer will want to add this well-recorded album to their collection.

"Yann Beuron studied voice at the Conservatoire national de Paris and was awarded first prize in 1996. In 1995, he sang the roles of Belmonte (Abduction from the Seraglio) under the direction of William Christie at the Opéra du Rhin and Ramiro (La Cenerentola) at the Théâtre Royal de La Monnaie in Brussels. Named “Musical Revelation” of 1999 by the professional union of critics, he soon found himself making guest appearances at some of the most prestigious opera houses (Hippolyte et Aricie and Les Indes galantes at the Palais Garnier, The Barber of Seville at the Capitole in Toulouse and in San Francisco, Idomeneo in Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, Bremen and Salzburg, Falstaff in Bordeaux, and Don Giovanni at the Teatro San Carlo in Lisbon and Marseille). Regularly invited to perform at the Paris Opera, he has appeared in L’Heure espagnole, Dialogues des carmélites, Iphigénie en Tauride, Platée, the world premiere production of Yvonne princesse de Bourgogne, and Berlioz’s Roméo et Juliette. In 2013, he made his debut in the role of Admète (Alceste). Yann Beuron’s repertoire spans from early music (Monteverdi’s Orfeo) to the contemporary (Philippe Boesmans’s Au monde). The last few seasons have seen him sing a wide range of roles, including Pelléas (Madrid, Brussels) and Titus (Madrid). He has also appeared in L’Heure espagnole at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London under the direction of Antonio Pappano, in Stuttgart with Stéphane Denève and at Milan’s La Scala with Mark Minkowski, Iphigénie en Tauride (Pylade) in Amsterdam, Dialogues des carmélites (the Chevalier de La Force) at the Theater an der Wien under the direction of Bertrand de Billy, at the Staatsoper in Munich under the baton of Kent Nagano and at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden with Simon Rattle. His other productions include Spontini’s La Vestale in Brussels and Offenbach’s Le Roi Carotte at the Lyon Opera… An ambassador of the French melody repertoire, Yann Beuron sings regularly in recital and has recorded volume III of melodies by Gabriel Fauré (Clef d’or Resmusica 2009), as well as the complete melodies of Albert Roussel on the Timpani label. He has also made several other CD and DVD recordings with EMI France, Virgin Classics, Erato et Phillips, DGG-Archives and Timpani.
