This week's Sunday School Lesson is from Romans 15.

"Two Sides of the Same Coin"
On the front of a U.S. nickel are the words: “In God we Trust” and “Liberty.” On the back of the nickel are the words: “E Pluribus Unum,” which means “Out of Many, One.” Trust in God and Christian unity are two sides of the same coin. That message is at the heart of what the Apostle Paul is saying in Romans. In today’s lesson from Romans chapter 15, Paul sums up his message to the Roman church, and a big part of that message is about Christian unity despite cultural differences. It starts with listening. Listening to God and listening to others are two sides of the same coin. You can’t have “out of many, one” without also having “in God we trust.” Paul understood that truth, even though he never saw a U.S. nickel. Today, our church and our nation need to learn that lesson all over again. We have to learn how to listen to each other and serve each other, and that starts with listening to God and serving him. As Jesus said: “Whoever who has ears to hear, let them hear.”
