Using contrast in your design work can help create more effective designs, But using contrast isn't just black and white stay tuned to find out more!

Contrast helps attract the viewers eye by adding visual interest into the design. But miss treated and it can offend the eye and send people running.

It’s a lot more than just black or white, large or small.

Contrast is a big part of creating effective designs and is something that should be part of every project.

It helps define the hierarchy of importance of various elements in your design and can help create a focal point increasing the visual interest. Imagine a design were everything was the same size, same colour, same shape it could be pretty boring couldn’t it?

By effectively using contrast you can draw peoples attention to a certain area of a design without actually telling them that’s where they should be focused on.

In this video, I explain the basics of contrast and suggest a few ways to add contrast into your designs.
