Wow! A southwest American desert is one of the most beautiful places in America. The vast dryness. The overcoming of life. I was listening to an audiobook called "Empire of the Summer Moon" while driving through this territory. It was surreal to hear descriptions of the land and the events that ensued there, and to look around and think "I'm here". Learning about the4 Comanche, their rise to power and fall to extinction was incredible.

Already engaged and enthralled by the stories in the book, I noticed I needed to fill up. I parked. walked in for a snack and drink, and of all people working behind the counter at an Exonn was a tanned dude with two long braids laying over his shoulders and on his front side. What a mind f***. AT AN EXONN!?! A single tear rolled down my cheek.
