The blind, the lame, the sick acerb."

"Come You to Edessa, I pray,
My city small, yet noble too
Here you shall find a peaceful stay,
Safe from those who pursue You."

The Saviour's answer swift did come,
"Blessed are you who have believed,

"My work on earth I must fulfill,

A disciple I shall send at will,
Your maladies and woes to mend."

"Your city shall be ever blessed,
No foe shall overcome its wall,
In Edessa My Name shall rest,
And grace upon your people fall."

When Addai came to spread the Word,
