How do I Practise? | A Sample Session to Mimic

Shakespearean actors don't come out on stage and suddenly speak their lines without practising and honing. They have spent months and years memorising lines, learning how to control their facial expressions and body movements. They've learnt how to speak unhurriedly and clearly, without hesitation. A lot of 'behind the scenes' work has gone on, no matter the role. Same for piano: spend time mastering techniques applicable to any repertoire and you'll be well on your way to being an excellent performer!

Not that this is a sample session. Usually I'll spend more time on one technique and not do so many variations; that was just for you to get an idea of what can happen. Sometimes I'll do more than 15 minutes, other-times a quick 5 mins on one exercise but accumulatively, over weeks, months and years, a good fluency and technique will develop!
