This has been on our bucket list for ages, and we were ecstatic when we got the opportunity to experience it through GetYourGuide.

The experience starts by first arriving at their satellite offices at the V&A, where they confirm your booking before arranging a shuttle for you to be driven to their main office.

Once we checked in at the main office, we had to submit our weights and sign disclaimer forms (the boring stuff) and then wait for our helicopter to take us.

It gets super noisy near the waiting area, so if you have any noise-cancelling buds, we suggest wearing them to keep the noise levels low.

Next is the fun part - you will walk to the helicopter, which is exhilarating, to say the least. The staff will arrange you to sit in a way that you can balance the weights and strap you up. You will also be given headphones for noise cancelling and hearing the pilot, who also acts as a guide to show you places.

Once we were up in the skies, we had different experiences. Saleha thoroughly enjoyed the experience as she was next to the windows so the views were lekker and had a different lens.

Aliasgher felt that paragliding had similar views and you experienced it better because you weren't in a helicopter.

We both agreed that the guide part wasn't great as it's oriented towards tourists and had some factually incorrect information - like the pilot said Cape Point is the Southernmost tip of Africa?!? NO IT'S NOT!

We took the 6-minute tour, which was sufficient. Due to the high cost, we only recommend doing it if you have a budget or are treating a friend to a special present.
