Released in 1985, "The Heavenly Kid" is a fantasy comedy film directed by Cary Medoway. The film tells the story of Bobby Fantana (played by Lewis Smith), a high school student who tragically dies in a car accident. In the afterlife, Bobby is assigned a heavenly mentor named Rafferty (played by Richard Mulligan), who guides him through the challenges of being a guardian angel. Together, they embark on a journey to help Bobby complete a mission on Earth and find redemption.

Apart from Lewis Smith and Richard Mulligan, the film features an ensemble cast including Jane Kaczmarek, Jason Gedrick a Mark Metcalf.
