===== ABOUT DAN =====

Dan is of course, a play on SNK's Ryo and Robert from Art Of Fighting... this is due to Capcom seeing the two SNK characters as rip-offs of their own characters, Ryu and Ken. Therefore Dan is designed to be somewhat of a joke character who is notably weak.

Due to him being an exaggerated joke character with an arrogant and over-confident personality, he quickly developed his own persona which made him unique enough.

In gameplay, his sprites/animation shows that he is yet another head-swap of Ryu/Ken... it's kind of odd and funny seeing him walk backwards using the Shotokan 'walk forward' animations.

===== GAMEPLAY =====

As a shoto-clone, his basic gameplay is of course very similar to Ryu... he has the Dragon Punch and the gliding kick move, but one of his major weaknesses is the fireball, which goes virtually nowhere. His Super Dragon Punch doesn't go anywhere. You can play him like Ryu but you'll find out that he does what Ryu does quite badly. On the plus side, his crouching HP into the Roundhouse Gale Kick special move is a nice and easy cancel which combos.

===== ADDITIONAL INFORMATION & TRIVIA =====

---- Regarding CPU control, he can only be fought against as a hidden character in the game.

---- His personal boss in the game is Sagat.

---- His background/stage is an evening version of Adon/Sagat's stage.

---- He has a unique voice produced for the PS1 and Saturn versions of SFA1. His Arcade version voices are different and are instead ripped off from Ryu's voices.

--- SFA1 is the only game where Dan has some unique voices and grunts. They were changed for SFA2 and beyond.

---- On the gameplay/fight screen, his name text under the icon is shifted slightly up for some reason.

---- The game is known as Street Fighter Alpha outside of Japan.

---- In the Saturn version of the game, when you win a round with a throw, the win icon shows a baseball. This is different to the PS1 and Arcade versions where it showed a rope instead.

--- In the Saturn version of the game, when fighting on Charlie's background, when you win a round there is no crowd noise (when they throw the money). On the PS1 and Arcade versions, the crowd makes a noise.
