Pennsylvania Northeastern: Former CN EMDs on the Bethlehem Branch

With a rare Monday off from work and a beautiful fall day on tap, me and my friend Andy chased Pennsylvania Northeastern local L160 from Lansdale, PA up to Telford and back on the former Reading Company Bethlehem Branch. The choice of power for this day's run was a real treat, with both PN painted units leading the way, SD40-2W 5342 and GP9RM 7010, both of Canadian National heritage, making it even cooler.

After leaving Lansdale Yard light, L160 drills out cars left on the interchange in Hatfield by CSX C746 out of Woodbourne before heading up the branch towards Telford, they're seen drilling out those cars at Orvilla Road before passing by Township Line Road and heading through Souderton into the town of Telford. Note the amount of Reefer cars on the train, Quakertown's Cold Storage warehouse has become a big customer for both PN and East Penn, which handles traffic from Telford to Quakertown on the branch.
