Crowden Clough and Brown Knoll. Introducing a youngster to the joys of scrambling

After nearly two months, spending every weekend in the hills, I'd decided after this one I'd be having a break. One of my regular hiking pals had asked if I would accompany him and his son on a Grade 1 scramble. After looking at some routes in Wales we decided that something shorter in the Peak District would be a better option. We headed for Edale and more specifically Barber Booth. The Crowden Clough scramble is very ascessible and relatively easy. It's always escapable and the only real scrambling is a short rock step near the top.
