Spine Center Atlanta's Dr. Chappius explains a previous Posterior Instrumented Fusion (PIF) back surgery at L5-S1 in lumbar spine with another surgeon has left our patient with Failed Back Surgery Syndrome (FBSS). She is also experiencing pain due to the loosening of her pedicle screws and narrowing at the S1 level where her nerves come out, also known as a S1 Radiculopathy.

Her surgery plan is to remove the painful pedicle screws and open up the bony canal where the S1 nerve root rides. She is up and walking after surgery and ready to get back to enjoying her life - pain free!
