The biggest event of 2019: The first black hole image released by the Event Horizon Telescope. The black hole that was imaged was the supermassive black hole at the center of M87 galaxy.

NASA's InSight craft on the Mars detected its first Mars quake on the Red Planet.

Superconductivity at very high pressure was achieved at a temperature of
-23 degrees Celsius. This marks a jump of 50 degrees from the previous record.

June
NASA's Curiousity Rover found the largest amounts of Methane on Mars so far. Methane is also an indicator of life on the Red Planet.

Scientists reported that all of 16 GB of Wikipedia data has been encoded in the synthetic DNA.

Scientists produced the first ever image of quantum entanglement
India launched Chandrayaan 2 , its second lunar mission, this time with an orbiter, a lander and a rover.

August
The blackhole at the center of the Milky Way suddenly brightened to 75 times its average brightness.

Scientists reported the teleportation of 3 dimensional quitrits for the first time.

September
Astronomers studied the iron content of the Methuselah star and proposed its age to be more than that of the Universe.

20 new moons of Saturn were discovered. Saturn now has 82 moons thus overtaking Jupiter with 79 moons, to become the planet with most number of moons.

Quantum Supremacy
Google announced that its 53 qubit processor has attained quantum supremacy. It performed a task in 200 seconds. The world's fastest supercomputer would have taken 10,000 years to do so.

Voyager 2 reached interstellar medium, far away from the solar system.

December: Scientists claimed to have discovered the fifth fundamental force of nature.
