00:00 Hello my friends.
00:05 In this modelling project I am building the modelling kit of the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190 F-8 Würger, in scale 1:72 from Revell.
01:56 The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 F-8 Würger, in scale 1:72 from Revell, is my first ever airplane model kit and mostly this is the reason why I chose to start with this "smaller" sized kit.
02:10 The other reason for this "smaller" sized kit, is that I will use it in an up and coming diorama that I am planning.
02:18 The box includes the plastic parts (clear sprue for the canopy and normal sprue for the rest), decal sheet and a beautiful colored manual (one other folded paper too).
02:33 It is a 23 steps model kit. Small size but with lots of work. Everything seems beautiful and of good to high quality with many details. Let's go.
02:45 Cutting and then smoothing out the parts with the hobby knife and sandpaper. When needed, using the hobby knife carefully in the opposite direction to avoid cutting or damaging the parts. Starting with the cockpit.
03:21 Gluing. Everything is so small and tiny. As always, will do my best.
03:37 ATTENTION! Keep always in mind that after gluing, painting, etc to let things dry.
03:52 Vallejo's surface primer gray airbrushing.
04:05 Dark gray airbrushing.
04:27 Red brown painting the seat's pads.
04:55 Off camera I gloss varnished the cockpit and its panel. Always gloss varnish before placing the decals else they will color degrade over time.
05:06 Mig's decal set before placing the decals and Mig's decal fix afterwards. The 1st prepares the surface and the 2nd takes care of any curves, bumps, etc.
05:22 Pressing with a cotton swab to take away the excess air or liquids below the decal without damaging it.
05:37 Special notes: Working in such small size its extra challenging so DO NOT despair. We are only humans 🤣
05:43 Off camera I added few more stuff, added details, so to speak. Decal fix. Depending on the decals placement you may need to coat twice.
06:20 Already placed the cockpit inside the airplane's body aka fuselage. Gluing.
07:09 I have prepared the wings which in this model kit are 3 parts basically. One big part that includes a piece of the fuselage's bottom and two normal wing parts. Gluing.
08:08 Merging the wings with the fuselage.
08:49 Wherever you see gaps, small or big, Vallejo's plastic putty to the rescue. For the win even!
08:57 Attaching few more parts on the fuselage and wings.
09:35 Placing the smaller wings.
09:57 Once again, off camera, glued and prepared few pieces. More gluing!
10:26 At this point, I would like to let you know that I could have done more modifications on the airplane, such as, cockpit chipping, bending the wing's flaps, etc but because I will use this kit in an up and coming diorama that may surprise you, I didn't.
13:31 This part here, I will paint with a metallic color.
13:34 Gray airbrushing some shadows.
14:02 Light blue airbrushing.
14:54 Masking tape and gray airbrushing like so.
15:40 Mix of olive drab, yellow and white airbrushing like so.
16:50 Some more masking tape and yellow airbrushing.
17:36 Black airbrushing.
17:49 The story so far.
17:57 Green & gray airbrushing like so.
18:35 Painting with green.
18:59 Off camera I have painted gun metal gray these parts.
19:08 Assembling the propeller, super gluing whenever necessary.
19:37 Super gluing the oleo struts.
19:58 Attaching the landing gear doors.
20:25 Placing the propeller.
20:39 Gloss varnish.
20:45 After it will dry, off camera, I will do one more coating.
20:50 Mig's decal set before placing the decals and Mig's decal fix afterwards. The 1st prepares the surface and the 2nd takes care of any curves, bumps, etc.
21:06 Pressing with a cotton swab to take away the excess air or liquids below the decal without damaging it.
22:38 The decals are in place. Decal fix. Depending on the decals placement you may need to coat twice.
23:06 Ivory black oil color diluted with thinner and black washing.
24:58 Hopefully you liked the project and you will enjoy the presentation. Since I am a new to this amazing art, please do share your words of wisdom in the comments below.
