Today we're going to be taking a look at the inaudible 00:00:04 stake pocket tie down winch for a flatbed truck or trailer. This winch lets you tighten down a cargo strap so you can safely secure a load to your trailer or truck. It will accept the two inch wide strap .you can see here it has the slot. Feeds right through that area there. It has plenty of room underneath so that we can feed out the excess strap and tie it off and secure it. Straps are sold separately.

This winch also requires a winch tightening bar. That tightening bar goes in one of these slots over here and allows you to get the proper leverage needed to tighten down the strap over the load. That's sold separately as well all the holes on this unit, on this side here for the tightening bar, those four holes all have a diameter of nine 16ths of an inch. This unit's going to feature a removable design so this base portion right here simply slides into a standard two by four stake pocket. That can be easily removed and reinstalled as needed. Secures in place with the included pin and clip.

That's a five eighth inch diameter pin, place it through, bring it out the other side, clip goes on to secure it in place. Really nice design. Allows you to set up a tie down point whoever you need it as long as you've got a stake pocket there. Its going to feature the easy to access release bar. This allows you to loosen the strap over the load so that we can disengage it and take it off, remove the load from the truck or trailer.

Spring loaded design. This unit only rotates one direction. That's going to be the tightening action. When you're ready to loosen the strap, you push down a spring bar. It'll disengage it, loosen it up so we can disconnect it all the way. The unit's construction of a durable steel construction.

We're looking at a zinc coating on the winch. That's that yellowish portion. That's going to offer excellent corrosion resistance. The area that goes into the stake pocket as well as that mounting platform, that's going to have a nice protective finish on it as well to resist rust and corrosion. The housing here or the base unit or the mounting area for that winch is steel with a block powder coated finish. That's going to do a great job at resisting rust and corrosion as well. The product's all made here in the USA. Its going to feature a safe working load limit of 3,333 pounds with a maximum load or break strength of 10,000 pounds. With this part number you're going to get one tie down winch. please note that tie down winches must be chosen according to their safe working load limit. The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed combined working load limit of the tie downs being used. That goes for your straps as well. A few measurements to go over real quick starting with this area down here. Measuring edge to edge, that's going to give us a measurement of about three and five 16ths of an inch to three and three eighths. Going this direction, its going to measure about an inch and a half. Bottom of the platform to the end is going to measure about six inches. From the bottom of that platform to the center of our pin hole, its going to measure about five and one eighth to five and three 16ths of an inch. Right in that area. The winch is going to sit above the platform by about four inches from the top of the platform to the top of the winch. If we include the bottom of the platform, we're looking at an increase of a quarter of an inch so four and one quarters from the bottom to the top. Edge to edge going to this direction its going to give us an overall width from this point to this point. Its about six and one quarter inches, right in that area. Maybe six and five 16ths.
