Stepping into magic and into Disneyland on Memorial Day, we immediately find some magic as Mickey and Minnie greet us with a dance, the lively band playing behind them. We take a moment to admire the scenery on Main Street and are sure to note the flag flying at half mast, in remembrance of those who served. The usual activity can be found with happy park guests strolling towards the castle and the Main Street Vehicles making their continuous laps up and down the street. We make our usual left into Adventureland and notice the crowds have gathered here, possibly due to the popularity of dole whip or the whiff of barbecue that draws people in. New Orleans Square has the usual amount of people lingering by Blue Bayou and perusing the shops for some take home trinkets. As we leave this area and proceed onward towards Haunted Mansion, we start to see that many are flocking into Critter Country, surely for one last Splash on the mountain. This is proven true as we enter the land and see the queue weaving and winding with tons of people. It’s amazing to think that a ride so iconic as this will cease to exist in a matter of days. Making our way towards Batuu, it seems a tiny bit emptier than usual, even for a holiday. Seemingly uneventful but always beautiful, we bid farewell to Batuu and proceed towards Frontierland, passing Big Thunder and the delicious smelling pretzel cart before following the sounds of the Disneyland Band and catching a great performance in front of The Golden Horseshoe. We love using the passage by Rancho del Zocalo and take this to get a nice view of the castle before proceeding into Fantasyland, which appears very crowded on this gloomy day. Making a left towards Toontown, we step into a very active land with tons of children actively playing and being entertained by all there is to do in Toontown. Still new and in great shape, the bright colors and designs are appealing to both the camera and naked eye. We find Goofy in his play yard, quickly drop in to check on the candy making in progress, and move on for a quick walk around the block before saying goodbye to Toontown. On our way out of Fantasyland and towards Tomorrowland, we spot Peter and Hook, a nice surprise. Tomorrowland seems fairly busy, although ride times didn’t appear excruciatingly long. We decide to finish up our Memorial Day walk in a different way, opting to use the Monorail as our exit route out of the park. We pause to admire the waterfall and Nemo’s submarine exiting through it, as well as the view of the iconic Matterhorn mountain and hope you enjoyed this walking tour of Disneyland park on Memorial Day.
