This recipe yields three lunch/dinner servings and 8 - 10 appetizer cup servings. Fish tea does not have to include ground provisions however to make it more filling we often add dumplings and ground provisions. Do what works for you😁

INGREDIENTS:

About 10 - 12 cups Water

A little salt is optional

At least 1 lb Fish head or whole fish, scaled, gutted but leave head and tail intact. I used snapper today but doctor fish is awesome for this dish

Vinegar or lemons

6 - 7 Pimento grains

6 cloves garlic, sliced

1 medium sized carrot, cut in chunks

1/2 - 1 lb yellow yam

1 small Chocho (Chayote)

1/4 lb Jamaican pumpkin

4 scallions

5 sprigs thyme

1 large green bananas

1 pack Grace Fish Tea soup mix (I use a sieve to remove the noodles)

salt and black pepper to taste

Recipe detail: After the soup mix seasoning is added. Simmer the soup till the carrots are cooked and the broth is thoroughly flavoured.
